Guitar Hero and Iowa Caucus

So the kids got a WII from Santa, and wii got Guitar Hero III. That game is already addictive, and it hasn't been but 24 hours. With the new political season upon us, I can't help but think how many voting-aged people will master Slow Ride by Foghat for GHIII, but still not know what Mike Huckabee stands for?

(UPDATE: or beat Lou... damn that guy is tough!)

Too bad Nintendo hasn't come-out with Political Hero 2008. It we be nice if we could vote for someone based upon the issues they stood for, rather than their political party affiliations. You could almost answer 20 questions, and then your vote is cast for the person running for office whose views most closely resembles your answers.

A two-party system is difficult, as is an electorate, in today's age. I wonder sometimes if we would be better-off as a (dare I say, parliamentary) democracy rather than a federal republic?

(UPDATE: you know it's sad when the average American thinks the US is a democracy, when in fact it is a federal republic. It's our state and local governments that are democratic. When you get the chance, look-up the definitions of democracy and republic, and then look-up the definitions of Democrat and Republican, as they relate to the party affiliations. It's interesting.)

But, it's all politics.
