Pay Dirt! Sorry, Rhett...

I'm now listening to Rhett's "Song for Truman Capote" on my laptop.

For any of you who are fortunate enough to have heard of Rhett Miller, you'll know what a talent he is. Rhett and I went to school together back in the 80's in Dallas.

Anyway, he's a wickedly talented musician. One of his first albums, Mythologies, was first available on tape and then on CD, both in limited release. I searched hi/lo back in 89 for a copy and eventually came across one at Bills Records and Tapes in North Dallas.

Love that album... my favorite song is "Still they Sing" with the St. Marks Boys Choir performing in the background. Sweet sounds.

As luck would have it, my tape went bad. Well, actually my 97 LX450's tape deck ate the damn thing. Time to upgrade vehicles, I think.

I thought that was the end of things, but I came across a website that allows you to search for MP3s and download them (legally?).

There's nothing like a great sound, be it from vocal chords or guitar chords.

"Still They Sing" is next.... sweet.
