I was always known as a social butterfly in high school & college. Maybe that's why I can get hooked on social networks. My recent foray is with Facebook. I'm still pretty new with it, but have found a number of friends from my early days who are also on it. It's quite fun really.
I tried MySpace, but found it... "too much." Speaking of MySpace, Barbara Walters picked the the MySpace founders as one of the top 10 most interesting people of 2007. It was a good show. What I found interesting was my shocked response when I heard that MySpace sold to News Corp for only $500 million. That might sound like a lot, but in the grand scheme of things, it wasn't. For example, the other social network I belong to, LinkedIn, is potentially going for 1+ billion. And MySpace could actually command a lot more than that!
We shall also see what happens to Second Life after their founder and CTO recently left.
Exciting times we live in!
