I went to the University of Texas at Austin and pledged Alpha Tau Omega (Gamma Eta). While there I met a lot of great guys, most of whom, if not all, are still close friends of mine to this day. In fact, I coordinate an annual dinner in DFW for all of us to catch-up.
One of our early presidents, Mike Martinez, was and is a quality guy. When we last spoke he had a great perspective on leaving behind legacies in various topics, e.g., humanity, art, and philanthropy.
Being the quality guy that he is, while working in Ft. Worth in a business related to the Barnett Shale natural gas reservoir, he's been busy following one of his "legacy goals."
Mike is the Executive Producer on a film called Vicious Circle that recently won BEST PICTURE at the HBO New York International Latino Film Festival the weekend of July 25th.
Congrats, Mike!

I am very proud of Mike and wish him much success. This is truly a wonderful legacy.
And on the Friends-in-Movies Front, my buddy Barry is trying to raise money for his next movie that is to be filmed on location at our Alma Mater, St. Mark's School of Texas.

And yet another dear friend, Ford Austin (perfect name for fame), has a billion degrees in theater, and tonz of experience on every side of the lens, and is truly a talented guy (I enjoyed his one act play in San Diego a couple of years ago).
You can find more information on one of Ford's current projects here: www.wonderhowto.com, and his production company is here: www.angrybabymonkey.com
Bideeba-bideeba-bideeba, that's all folks!
