Recently, the US Census data reported that for cities with population over 250,000, Plano has the highest average annual income at just under $85k.

Wow!

I knew Plano was consumer's paradise (anything I could want to buy w/in 10 minutes of my house, except an H&M which we need), awesome for kids, with stable home prices (~$100/sq ft), but richest city too?

With the Dow dropping ~4% today and the BK of Lehman Brothers, I just hope that average annual income number is not affected too much.

Time to be more diligent about teaching finances to my children. I've told them all that outside of going to Texas (link) for undergrad (Hookem Horns) their other requirement is to get a degree in finance or economics. My oldest wants to be a chef, which is fine as long as she gets a degree in finance too. If one of my kids wants to be maxillofacial surgeon, that too would fine, but they need a degree in finance. What's the point of making bank if you don't know what to do with it?

Think I'm going to look more heavily at www.payjr.com.
